The Antique Serpentine Front Chest of Drawers is a chest with a very unusual shape, a wavy edge similar to the bow fronted but with half a bow front on either side. This design was first introduced in the Georgian period and these are most sought after by collectors in quality woods such as solid Mahogany. Only a very skilled Cabinet maker could produce such skilled craftsmanship so they are quite rare to find as they were not commonly built. You often see these made by renowned makes like Gillows of Lancaster, the rarest from the Regency period with brass lion paw feet or with canted sides and blind fretwork carvings. - Kathryn McDougall,
Thank you James, the chest of drawers delivered on many levels, one being true to photo and description, ( wouldn’t normally buy before I see the real thing), quick delivery by a very nice and considerate guy in a yellow van (we spotted him a mile away - literally). Also, the caring and professional way in which we are received when we contact you. I now need another chest of drawers similar to the first in order to finish the room - please contact me should anything suitable come your way. Many thanks.
- Martin Howell,
We bought a beautiful, and wonderfully restored chest of drawers in summer 2019. Not the cheapest by any means but a) you get what you pay for and b) the quality of the furniture exceeded already high expectations. Delivery was reasonably priced and exactly as promised - with very careful help to get the chest into the house and up to a first floor bedroom. Overall, highly recommended.
