Antique Edwardian Wardrobes are quite useful as they come with plenty of clothes storage, often having hanging rails and fitted drawers. As more smaller houses were being built during this period, nicer smaller designs were made and this makes them ideal pieces for the modern home. They were also designed to break down into smaller sections so they could easily go up stairs and fit into most bedrooms with ease. Not only were they built using quality woods such as Mahogany, Oak and Walnut, they were very clever in the way they decorated using fine inlays, usually in the Sheraton or Art Nouveau design. Unusual shapes were produced from the Serpentine to Bow fronted from this period, along with more usable hanging space as they can be slightly deeper that the earlier Victorian models. Edwardian Wardrobes are a useful and beautiful piece of antique furniture that can fit into most bedrooms perfectly and can be a wonderful additional to any collection. They have a simple elegance along with stunning figuring and were made by some amazing cabinet makers. Here at Antiques World we get some beautiful examples for sale, have a look below at a few examples or to see our full collection click here.
