This very unusual late 19th century Victorian Walnut Secretaire Cabinet is by the renowned cabinet makers, Gillows and dates from ca. 1880 with arts and crafts influences. It has a moulded cornice above an open section for books and cupboard door. This sits above six small stationary drawers and mirrored back. The top has a moulded edge above a deep kneehole and two set back, cupboard doors along with side turned supports. It has the original decorative brass handles, hinges and the piece splits into three sections for removal.

Unusual Victorian Gillows Walnut Secretaire Cabinet

This very unusual late 19th century Victorian Walnut Secretaire Cabinet is by the renowned cabinet makers, Gillows and dates from ca. 1880 with arts and crafts influences. It has a moulded cornice above an open section for books and cupboard door. This sits above six small stationary drawers and mirrored back. It has the original decorative brass handles, hinges and the piece splits into three sections for removal. This fine Victorian cabinet comes with wonderful genuine charm, character and the walnut has aged to a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of furniture wax finishing.
