Quality Walnut Victorian Antique Writing Desk by Jas Shoolbred
This late 19th Century, Quality Walnut Victorian Antique Writing Desk is by the renowned Jas Shoolbred ca. 1900. It has an early faux leather writing insert that comes with lots of charm and character surrounded by a moulded top. There are also four small drawers with blind fretwork carvings, a central mirror and decorative brass gallery rail. This sits above a central knee hole flanked by two drawers with blind fretwork carvings and brass handles. This elegant antique desk stands on cabriole legs and the piece comes with wonderful genuine charm and character. The Walnut has aged to a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
