Fiddes Hard Wax Oil is made from a blend of natural vegetable oils and waxes and produces a hard-wearing satin sheen. It can be used on most interior wood surfaces and is especially popular on floors, kitchen worktops, doors and furniture. It produces a child and food safe finish that can last for many years if maintained properly. Fiddes Hard Wax Oil is designed to better retain the natural appearance of wood whilst also offering a durable, high degree of protection. It is quick drying, water repellent, tread-fast finish that will not crack, peel, blister or flake with use. It is scratch, scuff resistant and is easy maintenance. Suitable for use on all types of wood, Fiddes Hard Wax Oil enhances the natural beauty of your wood surfaces while providing an exceptional level of protection.

Directions
Ensure that the surface is bare wood, clean, dry before applying. Fill in any small holes, chips or cracks with a wood filler or wax filler sticks in the most suitable colour. Sand the wood with a fine grade of sanding paper and then dust. Stir thoroughly before use and use a good quality soft bristle brush to apply in a well ventilated area. Apply even amounts of fiddes hard wax oil in the direction of the wood grain where possible and remove any excess oil immediately with a clean lint free cotton cloth if necessary. We recommend the minimum of two thin coats but more coats can be applied if necessary. Leave to dry for the minimum of 6 hours between each coat. Before each additional coat, very lightly sand with very fine sanding paper as this will give you a smoother finish. Vacuum and dust before the next coat of oil to stop any contamination. When you are happy with the final results, leave for 24 hours to thoroughly dry and then lightly buff to a nice sheen. For an extra nice sheen try waxing with Fiddes wax, this works particularly well on furniture.
For best results apply 1 coat of the tinted colour with an oil brush and then 1 coat of Hard Wax Oil Clear for better protection. Alternatively you can apply 2 coats of the tint but the clear will add a more durable final coat.
Always do a small test area first to ensure you are happy with the finish and results before use. Ensure you follow the manufacturer’s instructions at all times.

Ultra Raw Hard Wax Oil offers a dead flat, matt finish. This will create the least colour change to your wood, so will keep it as natural in tone as possible. This is perfect when you want to maintain the natural original appearance of untreated wood, rather than creating a warmer toned ‘wet look’ like many other wood oils. It is ideal for use on lighter woods like Pine, Oak and Maple.
Fiddes Hard Wax Oil Natural
The tinted shade Natural is similar to the ultra raw, in the way it changes the colour only very slightly but this also leaves a satin sheen rather than a Matt. Natural was previously known as the colour ‘Oak Lightening’ but has recently been re-named. It is only very lightly tinted so you can maintain as close to the natural colour of the timber as possible.
