What is an Antique Centre Table?
The Antique Centre Table is circular or rectangular in shape and designed to be in a grand hallway with fine inlay decoration and beautifully built. These fine 19th Century Victorian antique tables would be ideal used as a lamp table carrying treasured family photographs or even as an intimate breakfast table for two. It was one of the first items of antique furniture you would see when you entered a home, so they were built to impress often with a lovely bunch of flowers displayed on top. Antique Centre Tables were most popular in the Victorian period built in stunning figured timbers from Rosewood, Mahogany to fine golden Burr Walnut. The best examples would have exotic or brass inlay or a marble top and come in unusual shapes like the serpentine with a moulded edge.
