This Superb Quality Edwardian Antique Bonheur Du Jour / Small Bureau Bookcase is made from Mahogany and Harewood, attributed to Maple & Co. It has a brass gallery above a single glazed door with key and working lock. It has a beautifully figured fall front with flamed Mahogany central panel and cross banded edge. The interior has three small working drawers with brass handles and five pigeon holes. Below are two working drawers with brass handles and decorative inlays. This fine antique bureau / bookcase stands on tapering legs and has aged to a warm rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
