Sensational Goncalo Alves Regency Antique Side Table / Tea Table
This Sensational early 19th century Regency Antique Side Table / Tea Table / Console table / Games Table dates from ca. 1830 and is made from rare Goncalo Alves. It is in the design and quality of a Gillows piece, with a beautifully figured top having rounded corners and a top that swivels open to double the size to reveal a beautifully figured interior and concealed games compartment. This wonderful antique table has a beautifully figured moulded frieze and stands on an elegant turned central pedestal with decorative carved edge. The quadra-form shaped base has four elegant scrolled legs with brass castors. The Goncalo Alves is a rich warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional bees wax for furniture.
