Decorative Painted Antique Bookcase / Dresser
This Quality 19th Century Victorian Decorative Painted Antique Bookcase / Dresser dates from ca. 1870. It is of large proportions and will hold a large amount of books. It has a deep moulded cornice above two glazed doors with the original brass handle. The interior has three adjustable shelves. The lower section has a moulded top above two concealed drawers with quality carvings. Below are two cupboard doors again with quality carvings and the bookcase stands on a moulded plinth. It has beautifully carved corbels and all the carvings have some gilding. This quality antique bookcase splits into three for ease of removal and has an aged paint finish which has been beautifully waxed using a furniture beeswax finish.
