Fine Quality Antique Victorian Walnut Work Table
This Fine Quality 19th century Antique Victorian Walnut Work Table / Work box dates from ca. 1870. It has a stunning figured walnut top with inlaid banded edge and string inlays. The top is hinged and the interior is fitted with a removable pin cushions, has a central writing slope, pen holder and a work box area originally designed to store wool etc. This fine antique table has an elegantly shaped frieze and stands on four turned legs with brown porcelain castors. It also has an X framed inlaid stretcher for added stability. The Walnut is a golden shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
