It has a moulded top above a deep secretaire drawer that folds down using a brass mechanism. The interior has green a baize writing surface and several pigeon holes along with concealed drawers. Below is two working drawers, the lower is a deep drawer with divides, ideal for files.

Quality Edwardian Mahogany Secretaire Chest

This High Quality Late 19th century Edwardian Mahogany Secretaire Chest ca. 1900 is very unusual in design and of nice slim tall proportions. It has a moulded top above a deep secretaire drawer that folds down using a brass mechanism. The interior has green a baize writing surface and several pigeon holes along with concealed drawers. Below is two working drawers, the lower is a deep drawer with divides, ideal for files. All the drawer fronts are beautifully figures with cock-beaded edges and decorative brass handles. The sides are canted with blind fretwork carvings and this quality antique Edwardian chest stands on Ogee bracket feet. The mahogany is a warm rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
