Rare Yew Antique Commode Chest
This 19th Century Antique Commode Chest dates from ca.1850 and is very rare as it has been made from Yew wood. It has a hinged lid above two cupboard doors with beautifully figured panels and small brass handles. This would be ideal to store a music system. There is a lower drawer with brass handles and this beautiful antique chest stands on turned bun feet. It comes with wonderful charm and character, ideal for the antique enthusiast who can fully appreciate a piece that is over 150 years old. The Yew is a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of furniture wax finishing.
