Osmo UV Protection oil Extra is used for exterior wood and comes in a clear or many different tinted colours to choose from. Formulated to safeguard your exterior wood from weather conditions, this oil also offers UV protection, thus preventing discoloration and degradation of timber caused by the sun. The final coat will be a water repellent finish that will not crack, peel or flake. Suitable for a wide range of outdoor wooden surfaces such as fences, doors, gates and garden furniture, it provides a natural looking, durable finish that elevates the appearance of your space. Osmo UV oil has been made with natural ingredients and you can simply apply without sanding, using an Osmo brush. The final coat will provide a micro porous surface that allows the wood to breathe therefore reduces swelling and shrinkage on wood and protects against mould, algae and fungus. Directions
The wood must be clean, dry, frost-free and free from any paint or lacquers. For renovation works, clean and restore greyed or weathered wood with Osmo Wood Reviver Power Gel before use. Sand the wood if necessary, no finer than grit P120. Stir well before use. New hardwood that are rich in extractives need to weather off for approximately 6 weeks before application. Additional protection against blue stain, rot and insects can be added by applying Osmo WR Base Coat before application of UV oil. Apply the UV oil using an Osmo Flat Brush, thinly in the direction of the wood grain. Allow to dry for at least 12 hours and then apply a second coat. If using a tinted colour, adding a final coat of 420 clear will offer the best protection.
