Outstanding Victorian Rococo Rosewood Antique Writing Desk
This Outstanding late 19th Century Victorian Rococo Antique Writing Desk dates from ca. 1890 and is finished in finely figured Rosewood. It has an elegant serpentine fall front opening to a well fitted and leather lined interior with central cupboards and small drawers. This sits above an arrangement of five drawers all with brass key escutcheons, key with working locks and moulded edges. This stunning antique desk stands on cabriole legs with stunning floral carvings and has been built by a true craftsman. The rosewood has aged to a warm rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
