Antiques world are owned by Driscolls Antiques ltd. Driscolls Antiques Ltd are committed to upholding high standards of practice in the sale of good quality antique furniture. A purchase from us can be made with complete confidence.
Terms of sale
These items are antique and character marks can be seen due to the age. Items are purchased as seen on the photographs. Antiques can also come with odours due to age. Whilst we make every endeavour to point out if there is any serious damage, restorations etc. etc. we cannot cover every eventuality so if you have any questions please contact me via e-mail before purchase.
Online Purchases only – In the unlikely event you are not happy with your purchase we will gladly issue a refund (excluding carriage costs), the item must be returned within 28 days of purchase in the same condition as it left us. The refund will be issued upon return arrival.
If you cancel your purchase (within the 28 days) before delivery a full refund will be issued excluding a 10% administration fee.
Shop Purchases – the item must be returned within 7 days of purchase in the same condition as it left us. The refund will be issued upon return arrival.

Return of restoration products and wood finishes etc.
Items must be returned within 14 days of purchase. Any items must not be opened or used. Items must be sent in a leak proof bag and well packaged (in the same way we post them to you). Items must be sent back with tracked and insured postage. Items must arrive unopened and in good condition. If any items arrive damaged to us, unfortunately we can not offer a refund. Upon arrival, if in good unopened condition, we will offer a refund excluding any postage costs.

Deliveries
Our deliveries are usually a one man delivery but we can arrange a two man delivery if required. The goods are insured to your door (please see the notes below on insurance) Please note that the delivery is only insured to curb side at your address but our drivers will assist you with the item into your home and assemble the piece if necessary. He will be driving to a very tight schedule, and it is beyond reasonable expectations to undertake any other tasks eg removing household doors and windows, or re-arranging furniture so please be ready, so that our driver can move swiftly on to his next delivery. We cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to any fixtures or fittings in your home so please ensure your carpets are covered to stop them from being marked and remove any obstacles such as pictures or furniture etc. If carrying large items in your home we cannot be held responsible for marking walls etc. Please make sure that you measure the space that the items have to fit into, as we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to the piece getting them into awkward spaces (such as awkward staircases etc) delivery outside of our regular delivery run will incur extra charges.
Your own courier
If using your own courier please ensure you have adequate insurance as we cannot be held responsible in any way for any damage caused when it leaves our premises. If you require any packaging for your own courier we do charge for the materials used.
Insurance
The insurance is at no extra charge and it commences when the item is purchased, and finishes when it is unloaded from our van at its destination. The insurance does not cover moving the item to or from the van at the delivery point. This remains the responsibility of the buyer even if a member of our staff is assisting at the time and the insurance is not for any other items in your home.
Storage
If you have had items in storage at our premises and the transaction is cancelled then we reserve the right to charge reasonable storage costs including packaging (Usually £10 plus VAT per day to cover cost of space and business rates etc). We can agree to store items for a short length of time free of charge but this must be agreed prior to purchase. If items are in storage for over 12 months, we reserve the right to sell the item(s) to recover costs from storage etc. Items stored for over 12 months are non refundable.
Restoration on items
If any restoration is completed on request by the purchaser, this work is non refundable. If you ask us to complete any restoration on a piece of furniture that we currently have for sale, that affects the original finish or design (re polishing, adapting to fit into spaces, changing handles, removing the original finish, adding additional fixed shelves etc.) then the piece is non refundable after the work is started.
Selling items on commission
On occasion, we do sell items on commission. We reserve the right to sell these items as we feel is a fair price and have the option to reduce the price when we see fit. We also have the right to charge £10 per day storage if this is left with us for over 60 days. We will try to achieve the best price possible but it is at our own discretion to what price we sell for.
Invoices
All good must be paid for in full before delivery, if goods are delivered without payment an invoice will be issued and must be paid for on the day of delivery. Late payments will result in reminder invoices and if still unpaid after 30 days of the invoice date, the invoice will be passed onto a debt collecting agency. Any additional costs that this brings will be paid for by debtor and compensation will be sought after, according to the Late payment legislation.
