Dating from the early to mid 20th century this rare pair of George III design antique peat buckets are currently very desirable in the open market. This particular pair are of superb quality made from hardwood with a spiral twist moulded design and central carved shell motif. Both are brass bound and have a brass twist grip handle. A pair like this of similar design and age can command a hammer price of between three and four thousand pounds in a famous London auction house.
