Stunning Walnut Antique Victorian Writing Slope
This Stunning 19th Century Walnut Antique Victorian Writing Slope / Box / Lap desk dates from ca. 1890. It has been made by a true craftsman with brass bound inlay and corners. The hinged lid opens out to create a sloped writing / work surface with original / early velvet writing surface, pen storage and two ink wells. One of the small divides lifts up and this reveals small secret drawers hidden behind a piece of wood. This is a superb quality antique box and the Walnut has aged to a rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of beeswax finishing.
