This Quality Antique Desk Chair / Antique Office Chair dates from the early 20th century in the Edwardian period ca. 1900 and is made from Oak. It has wonderful green leather upholstery with stud trim and beautifully turned carved upright supports. This quality Edwardian chair has aged to a warm Oak shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of furniture bees wax finish.

What is an Antique Desk Chair?

They were first seen in the 18th Century Georgian period in the form of a single carver arm chair, used to sit at a large pedestal or partners desk and built in Cuban Mahogany. The Edwardian period produced designs that could swivel and tilt on their original mechanism, usually in solid Oak Timbers. Antique desk chairs in this design is the most sought after today.
