Spectacular Large Victorian Antique Oak Bookcase
This unusual and practical designed Large Victorian Antique Oak Bookcase / Secretaire Cabinet is truly sensational and dates from around 1880. It has a moulded cornice with dental moulding above two doors with outstanding art Nouveau design leaded glass and fine carvings. The interior has two adjustable shelves. The lower section has a moulded top above a secretaire drawer and beautifully figured front. The drawer is hinged and opens to reveal a writing surface, several pigeon holes and small drawers. Below are two cupboard doors with raised fielded panels and this quality Victorian bookcase stands on a shaped plinth. It splits into two sections for easy removal. The Oak has aged to a warm golden shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of furniture wax finishing.
