Spectacular Figured Elm Early Victorian Antique Smokers Bow Arm Chair
This Spectacular 19th century, Early Victorian Country House Antique Smokers Bow Arm Chair / Captains Chair dates from ca. 1850 and is in a beautifully figured Elm. It has an unusual curved shaped back with out-swept arms, has turned upright supports and a beautifully figured shaped seat. The four turned legs have the added benefit of a double turned H stretcher for stability and this beautiful antique chair has aged to a warm Elm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
