This elegant late 19th Century Walnut Antique Bonheur Du Jour / Bureau / Ladies Writing Desk dates from ca. 1900. It has a decorative brass gallery above a shaped fall front with brass decoration and decorative painted panel signed by the artist. The interior has three small drawers, a sliding bible well and writing insert. This fine antique desk stands on elegant cabriole legs with brass ormolu mounts and it has the most magnificent inlays on the top, front and sides. It has aged to a rich warm Walnut shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of furniture wax finishing.
